What goes into great logo design you ask? Well here are 3 characteristics a great logo should have:
1. Versatility
The ability for a logo to be used across all media is a must. A good logo design should be suitable for mobile and web, for digital and print, and be able to be reproduced at any size. Always create logos in vector form, not jpg or png files. Vector files give you flexibility for infinite scalability while jpg's (uses pixels) can only scale up to a certain size before becoming pixelated.
2. Concept
A great logo should be more of a symbol rather than a photo. Think of the iconic Nike swoosh, it represents speed and movement in a simple and memorable icon without being literal.
3. Simplicity
The simpler the better, you want to be able to glance quickly at a logo and understand what it is. It's so easy to put a ton of things together on a page and consider it a logo but the real magic is a great concept executed in a simple way.
